oh boy. nnnno i've watched people cook but never really been in a spot where i could even try doing it myself
[ to be honest, maybe a few months ago he would have left it at that because he was sick of always doing things for people. but there's a balance in Eudio, a give and take that must be normal for most. and cooking sounds boring, really, it's something he's never done before and he hates looking like an idiot because of his lack of experience with such mundane things — but it's Elsa. he wants to help her out in whatever way she needs. ]
but how about i come by, we look at a recipe, and figure it out. how hard can it be, right?
You'd do that? [She has to get used to the idea that people are alright with being near her in this world. Even months later, she's still skeptical. Come on, Elsa.]
I wanted to make something for a Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to. And I thought my sister would like some too.
yeah, i know the whole lot of them. gansey & ronan were having money troubles so i decided to give them my monthly stipends for as long as they need, and i guess that means i get special sponsor rewards like being invited to dinner.
[ and now they're his kids because none of them seem to understand how to be normal, stupid teenagers. ]
Really? That was nice of you, Jack. I don't make much use of my own allowances but I never thought to give it to someone else. You're kind.
[The queen is totally taking lessons from this.]
I ran into him some weeks ago at an aquarium. We simply talked. He was sweet. And quite interesting. [She considers that's all she'll say. It's awkward describing it. Weird, unwelcomed mushy feelings were involved.
ah, it's just wasted on me. i buy one mocha a month, the rest of the money may as well go somewhere.
[ it shouldn't be anything significant, that Gansey apparently liked Elsa's magic. it is to her, though, and Jack knows it's because she still hasn't really been able to see that almost everyone in Eudio will be accepting of her abilities. he understands the issue of not being able to get your head around something that's so different in this place. he has things he still can't believe. ]
that's great! gansey's a good guy. the others are all good too, i'll tell you about them while we're figuring out this chocolate thing.
I've read a bit about cooking and baking in the past but I've never actually been able to put it into action. Fear of freezing the food in the process. I think you'd understand.
