i only want a free snow day if i get you with it i could use a good deal of that fun youve promised the childish, carefree kind no struggle from me ill accept it gladly
[It's one of those nights where Jack isn't in the house, where the magic-creating boy is probably out somewhere in the sky making a snowfall. That's what Hiccup assumes anyway. It's alright when he's gone, for the most part. Hiccup's a grown man and can very well handle being in his room on his own — Katniss is elsewhere in the house and Toothless is in his stable; it's not like he's alone.
But tonight is different. He wakes up in a sweat, heavily breathing and swallowing hard. That nightmare returns. It's been months since he's seen it. But it's there, keeping him awake in the night, kicking the blanket off with a good foot. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he tries to collect himself. He's a grown man, he thinks again, and he should be tougher than this to be able to deal with a few bad dreams, but even if it fights it, he'll always be fragile when it comes to those images.
He doesn't want to wake Katniss. He woke her the other night when he'd brought her the extra blankets, and he wouldn't want to bother her again so soon. Toothless is an obvious option. He'd need to put his metal piece on and climb down the ladder to the ground. Except ... there's someone more particular that he keeps thinking of, that he wants to see right now (not to mention, his body feels too hot from the panic-induced sweat; he'd suffocate against the dragon's scales right now).]
[ it's been a while since solas heard from jack, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been watching for him-- out in the city, and particularly on the network. .. elf-dad is worried, son. ]
I haven't heard from you recently, and I wanted to know if you're well. I imagine this season is somewhat stressful for you, so I also wished to extend an invitation. My home here is open to you at any time, day or night, should you wish to talk or simply need a refuge. [ a thoughtful pause. ] If I am not home.. I'll leave a window open, or you may have the spare key-- whichever you prefer.
Mr. Frost, isn't it? This is Harry Hart--from the masquerade.
It appears I'll be needing to render your services of the snowy sort. It's very important to me, enough that I'll pay handsomely or work out a fair and proper reimbursement if you'd be so kind as to oblige.
[ Christmas morning there is a brown-wrapped, plain package tied with a green bow on Jack's bed/branch/etc. The tag reads YOUR OTHER MAGICAL POWER!! --LOKI XOXO and inside is a fitting gift.
Giving presents out for a monotheistic holiday seems like the thing to do when no one expects it of him, and so. ]
[During the middle of the 14th, Jack may find a small package wrapped in cloth containing a dyed leather bracelet. There's a message written, but may require some deciphering as it's written in old Norse. Upon translation, if able, it reads:]
